Inspired by Nordic bathing rituals, the Kerid 40 freestanding podium basin brings a sense of calm, simplicity, and sculptural beauty to the bathroom. Designed to complement the Kerid bath, it forms part of a collection centred around wellness, immersion, and a considered home spa experience.

With its clean cylindrical form and softly chamfered base, the Kerid 40 creates a subtle ‘floating’ effect—echoing the architectural language of the bath while standing confidently as a standalone feature. The generous height enhances usability while reinforcing its striking vertical presence within the space.

Crafted from Victoria + Albert’s signature QUARRYCAST™ material, the basin offers exceptional durability, a smooth tactile finish, and excellent heat retention -qualities that elevate both everyday use and long-term performance.

Designed for freestanding installation, the Kerid 40 is ideal for minimalist and design-led interiors where form and function are equally important.

Kerid 40 is available in gloss white and matt white as standard, and custom colour painting as an optional extra.

Victoria + Albert QUARRYCAST®

A naturally superior bath: It may sound obvious, but not all baths are created equally. At Victoria + Albert we are passionate about our unique QUARRYCAST® material. QUARRYCAST® is made from finely ground Volcanic Limestone™ mixed with resin. As the stone-rich alternative to both cast iron and acrylic, QUARRYCAST® is hand finished and cast as a single piece.

Our unique material is packed with naturally desirable properties:

  • Warm – Due to the quality of the QUARRYCAST® material, it has high insulation properties and is warm to the touch.
  • Beautiful – The Volcanic Limestone™ mineral delivers a naturally white, gloss finish, offering excellent stain resistance.
  • Strong – Our raw material has special needle-like particles formed by the rock undergoing superheating. When mixed with resin, these bond together to create an incredibly strong web. As well as being naturally white and naturally harder than acrylic, this makes QUARRYCAST® incredibly strong and ensures no creaking or flexing of our baths.
  • Renewable – Easy clean surface – as the material is solid and consistent all the way through, internal scratches simply polish out.
  • Practical – Drillable for unique tapware installation.
  • Unique – Hand finished semi-gloss interior — exterior can be painted or personalised after purchase.

What is Volcanic Limestone™
Volcanic Limestone™ is Victoria + Albert’s proprietary name for the very special white rock that is perfect for making bathroom products. This is formed when the elemental forces associated with liquid magma acts upon surrounding soft, chalky limestone. The immense heat and pressure from the magma transforms the neighbouring rock into a new material made up of incredibly hard strands.
Victoria + Albert blends milled Volcanic Limestone™ with high quality resin to bind these strands into a complex 3D matrix. The finished result is QUARRYCAST® – a world class composite with an exceptional strength to
weight ratio.

Our Finishes

Our baths and basins are available in two finishes, Gloss and Matt. Both finishes are cast in our signature QUARRYCAST™ material, which is naturally warm to the touch, reassuringly durable, and guaranteed for 25 years. And what’s more, freestanding baths and countertop basins can be personalised with a custom colour finish.

QUARRYCAST™ Gloss (SW)
Our signature finish is glossy on the inside and outside. Hand polished to produce a beautifully smooth sheen, our gloss finish has been a market leader for over 25 years. Every bath and basin across our portfolio is available in our Gloss finish.
QUARRYCAST™ Matt (SM)
Victoria + Albert’s Matt finish is different. Made in the cast, not by coatings or glaze, it is ‘100%’ Matt. It has a velvety feel, gentle against the skin. Our Matt finish is available across a selection of our baths and basins.
